The May 2, 2016 meeting of the West Windsor Council brought the consummation of an exchange of properties between the Township and Mercer County. The Township now owns the 26 acre parcel at the corner Conover Road and South Post Road. Previously the Township leased this parcel from Mercer County and used it for athletic fields. It will continue to be used for athletics, and now that the Township owns the parcel it will explore adding improvements, including rest room facilities.
As part of the exchange Mercer County received title to a 4 acre parcel off Windsor-Edinburg Road the fronts the Assunpink Creek. The County plans to install parking and construct a canoe launch on this parcel.
A win-win situation for both parties!
